Battery-operated systems often face hidden performance degradation that traditional monitoring fails to catch early. Engineering teams struggle to anticipate capacity fade, abnormal discharge patterns, or remaining useful life—especially when multiple factors like temperature, voltage, load current, and cycle count affect outcomes simultaneously.

Unplanned battery failures impact product reliability, warranty claims, and downstream systems, particularly in EVs and industrial storage applications.


💡 What we did with Dataraft

Using real-world cycle data from a lithium-ion cell (e.g., B0005), we processed and analyzed over 167 charge-discharge cycles with more than 22,000 data points using Dataraft.


Key capabilities leveraged:

  • 📊 Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) of variables like voltage, current, load, cycle count, and temperature

  • 📉 Capacity Fade Analysis: Tracked gradual reduction in energy delivery capacity

  • 🔁 Trend Analysis: Visualized how max-voltage, load current, and temperature evolved across cycles

  • 🧠 Regression Modeling: Applied ML models like XGBoost and Random Forest to predict remaining useful life (RUL)

  • 🔍 Abnormal Pattern Detection: Flagged irregularities in charge/discharge curves using rule-based thresholds
